Church Commissioners

Bushfield Camp is owned by the Church Commissioners, a charity which administers the property assets of the Church of England.  Their purpose is “to contribute to the common good, and reimagine ministry through its sustainable approach to ethical and responsible investments.”

They state they have a commitment to responsible investment and the adoption of the policy focusing on ‘Respect for People’ and ‘Respect for the Planet’ and that “as an organisation with global impact this means our investment decisions must consider the entire world and everything in it – people, planet, climate and biodiversity”.  It is very difficult to comprehend how the developer's plans are at all compatible with ‘Respect for the Planet’ or consideration for biodiversity.

Sign this important petition asking the Church of England to rewild the extensive amount of land they own rather than selling it for development.

You can also email commissioners.enquiry@churchofengland.org or contact the Diocese of Winchester to express your concerns.  Thank you!

I recently revisited the area of Whiteshute and Bushfield and was staggered at the beauty of the chalk downland on my doorstep... Please keep in mind, when it’s gone, it’s gone forever. Please do all you can to stop this development.
